Ottawa Valley SAGE is pleased to sponsor another LPI exam session on May
28, 2005.
Yes, I know it’s a bit out of the way, but we do have use of the
training center there, and it holds about 40 to 50 people.
Traditionally, space has not been an issue.
We will try to have the next one in a downtown location, to assist with
the people who prefer to not visit the ‘burbs.
We are considering offering another set of LPI exams on Saturday May 28,
2005. There will be two seatings, one at 11:00, the other at 1:00. The
location is yet to be determined, but we definately have a location in
the west end. A finalized location will be posted within the next two
weeks.
Same old same old.. Well, not quite. I was looking at a project called
openNMS and was wondering if anyone had looked at it yet, and if so,
wanted to talk about it.
If not, I thought we could try it out.
If anyone wants to have a look, the project is located at
www.opennms.org
It looks to be a pretty full featured monitoring system, and I can’t
afford a copy of HP OpenView :) (supposedly neither can my employer).
I’m planning on giving it a shot on my own network, so I may have some
info for the meeting.
That last item should have read as email fixed. This doesn’t mean
mailing lists, but that will be fixed shortly as well. You can now
receive password reminders.
Well, I guess this would indicate why there have been few comments
lately, etc. It appears that there was a typo in the email processing
routine of the software. I just tried sending an email to myself from
the site after Kelly told me that he couldn’t get a password reset
email. I suspect this would have affected new signup as well. Not
amusing. All appears to be fixed now, so anyone who needs a password
reminder/reset should now be able to get one. Sorry for the
inconvenience.
