Despite my insistence on using GitLab for most things, it only allows
for 5 people to be in a team for private projects. I am not sure what
the limits are for GitHub so this will be a way to find out. If we want
a private documentation area or ability to work on the website, that
will be a more restricted environment and edit capability will certainly
be restricted.
Regardless, this is about the September workshop.
Visit https://github.com/ottawavalleysage/workshop-20240914 for information.
As you can probably tell, it is going to be September 14, 2024 and
probably at the Dymon Storage location in Kanata. If you don't know
where it is, a quick web search will tell you, but it is right off the
Terry Fox exit on the Queensway.
To be successful, you probably want to have the necessary parts ready.
Some of this will be absolutely new for some of you and probably
unaccustomed activity for the rest. The hope is that it will be interesting.
I should update the README with this...
I will be using a laptop with Fedora installed. The instructions will be
similar for most Linux distributions, but I don't use Windows, so if you
insist, I hope you know how to do serial connections and can write image
files to cards easily. WSL or MobaXterm might be useful. MacOS should be
simple enough, but you may need Brew installed. The intent is to do this
really old school and assume we only have serial devices available until
we get it on the network, then it will be ssh access.
